The 'Informe de Vida Laboral de Empresa' (or similar corporate history) is a crucial document for Digital Nomad Visa applicants working as employees. Its primary purpose is to prove that the hiring company is active and has been operational for at least one year as required by Law 14/2013. For Spanish companies, this is the official certificate from the Social Security (TGSS). For foreign companies, an equivalent document from the local commercial register or tax authority is required, showing the company's registration date and workforce stability.
If the company is non-Spanish, the document must be apostilled (unless exempt by treaty) and translated by an official sworn translator (Traductor Jurado). The document should typically be no older than 3 months at the time of submission. A common mistake is providing a simple 'Certificate of Incumbency' that mentions directors but omits proof of operational history or employee count. It is vital to demonstrate that the company is a real, 'going concern' entity and not a shell company created specifically for the visa. Note that while employees must be covered by social security, once a nomad registers as 'Autónomo' (RETA) in Spain, they gain access to the public health system (SNS), making private insurance optional.
